Deaf Student Ministry

We minister to the deaf students from South Carolina School for the Deaf. We have two groups of students who meet on Mondays at the beautiful new chapel in Walker Hall on the campus of SC School for the Deaf and the Blind.

The elementary group comes in the afternoon. We provide drinks and snacks for the students; we sing praise songs; we read Bible stories; we memorize Bible verses; and we have art/craft time.

The middle school and high school group comes in the evening. We provide pizza and drinks for them. We also have Bible stories, drama, small prayer groups, fellowship, and games.

We also arrange for the deaf middle & high school group to attend the Deaf Youth Camp at Camp Caraway in Asheboro, NC every spring. Many of these students need scholarships to attend. We pray you will be able to help them. The cost for one student is $100.00. If you would like to help sponsor a child to Camp Caraway, please send a check or money order and make payable to Barnes Deaf Ministries.
