Rev. Larry and Dawn Barnes, Founders











Kevin Clark is a full time evangelist for the Deaf.  He also works part time serving as a Deaf Evangelism Events Coordinator under the Baptist State Convention of NC.  Kevin is also the director of the Deaf Youth Camp at Camp Caraway in Asheboro, NC and he leads the international mission trips every year with deaf people.  Kevin and his wife, Debbie, served as short term IMB Missionaries to the Deaf in South Africa, Puerto Rico, Russia, Guatemala, and Honduras.








Donnie Wiltshire is the Consultant on Special Ministries for the Baptist State Convention of NC since 1999.  He was the former pastor of the Deaf Congregation and Minister to Senior Adults at the First Baptist Church of Memphis, TN.  He was also the pastor in New Orleans, Loiuisiana, and served churches as Minister with the Deaf in Fort Worth, Brownwood, and Corpus Christi, TX.  Donnie has a BA degree from Howard Payne University in Brownwood, TX, a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX, and a Doctor of Theology degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, LA.  He has written and edited several books.  Donnie resides in Cary, NC with his wife, Irma.  They have three grown children. 




Earl Wright is a certified teacher at SC School for the Deaf and Blind. He graduated from Gallaudet University. Earl is a member of First Baptist Spartanburg where he is an active member of the Deaf Ministry. He and his wife, Debbie, have grown children.










Artie ConnellyArtie Connolly is a graphic artist for Copac, Inc in Spartanburg, SC for 15 years.  He graduated from Dorman High School in Spartanburg, SC in 1986.  He also graduated from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte in 1992.  Artie is a member of First Bapist Spartanburg where he is an active member of the Deaf Ministry.  He has been on two international mission trips:  Panama Canal in 2000 with Carpenters for Christ and Honduras in 2007 with a deaf mission team.  Artie and his wife, Patricia, live in Fairforest, SC.  They have two daughters, Madeline who is 10 years old and Anna Grace who is 4 years old. 




Paul May is a member of the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community who earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from East Carolina University. Paul is managing partner of Red Telescope, Ltd. Co., which specializes in Web site development and video productions related to mental health and education. In addition to his work for the Clearinghouse, Paul produced Web clips in ASL and created the Web site for South Carolina Department of Mental Health Services’ program for people who are Deaf/HoH. He lives in Columbia, S.C., with his wife Holly, a licensed mental health counselor for people who are Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing, and their daughters, Victoria and Josephine.  Paul is also the President of South Carolina Baptist Conference of the Deaf and active member of Midlands Deaf Church in West Columbia.
